Hi all
After a long and difficult hatch, my little running duck finally made it on Sunday afternoon (today is Tuesday) and is now very lively, and there is no doubt about him/her being a Runner!
I've had some difficulty stabilising the heat under the heat lamp, its fluctuating between 25-35 Celsius, but Lettuce (yes that's it name) doesn't really stay under there.
When sleeping he/she will stay on the edge, so I assume I need to lift the light some more, but spends 75% of the day running around the brooder, climbing over absolutely everything. And I mean everything! CCTV (so I can keep a close eye) water feeder (which he/she runs circles around), food bowl, and 2 small teddies (for company). He pokes his head above the brooder constantly and I'm just glad he can't jump....
Is this normal at 2 days old?
