I would also lay a 1X4 inch treated board on top of the conduit and burry wire, conduit, and the shielding board 18 inches deep. The board is to protect the conduit or warn people who come along later with a pick and a shovel.

Great build thread LL, the pictures and story really helped.Wire. 12/2 with ground. Direct bury or inside 1/2" PVC Gray electrical conduit. Depth should be below frost level.
GFI on the coop end. No breaker needed in the coop.
20 AMP breaker in the garage.
