She returned the lick and curled up beside him, sighing softly as sleep cane over her.
Soon he slipped into a comforting darkness, his tail over his nose
As the dawn light crept in, she lifted her head and blinked her eyes blearily.
He stretched and sighed in his nest, lifting his head and looking around
“Morning,” she yawned. “Good luck with the elders. I hope you can get it done quickly. I would help you, but I don’t think that’s allowed...”
He laughed. "That's okay. What would be the point of taking the punishment if you helped me do it anyway?"
“Good point.” She stood up and stretched. “I’m sorry for making you do this...”
"Don't be. I want to do it." He stood up and shook the moss and dust out of his pelt
“I don’t know why you’d want to, but alright. Redfrond is probably waiting for me... See you later.”
