"You can't stop instincts. Once they're there, their there forever." He looked at his paws sadly

(That was tough! There were so many there's, it was hard to keep track of which ones to use XD)

He smirked and shook his head, still looking at his paws. "No matter what I do, those instincts will always be there and there's nothing I can do to get rid of them or cover them up."

Rosepaw and Redfrond pricked their ears with interest toward the conversation

“You need to try. If you try and fail, then that’s alright. But you can’t just assume you’re going to fail and never try, because that’s the only time you really fail. Did-Did that make any sense?”

"Oh, trust me, I've tried everything I can think of." He mewed, looking up. "Yes, it made sense, but I've already tried everything. The only thing that seems to work is..." His voice trailed off and he shut his mouth, shaking his head. No, he couldn't reveal the secret. It might give everything away and jeopardize his kits futures. He couldn't let anyone realize how much he and Larkpaw liked each other

Sensing he was uneasy and didn’t want to finish the sentence, she dipped her head. “Then use that,” she said quietly. She raised her voice slightly and addressed the rest of the cats. “Can we go home now?”

Redfrond nodded and led the way back to camp. Blackblood trailed behind the patrol and Rosepaw went to the middle of it

Snowpaw gave Blackblood a comforting lick and quickened her pace to catch up with Rosepaw. “I’m sorry...” she muttered, ears turning hot with embarrassment. “I shouldn’t have struggled so much. I gave us away and let my anger get the better of me.”
