Lilyflight pressed against her, gently licking her ears. "I can't imagine that," she murmured. "I'll always be here if you need someone to talk to." She continued grooming her in a motherly way.

Sunpaw felt herself relax more with every tongue stroke. "Thanks Lilyflight. I... I think I'm ready to answer some of your questions that you have now."

Lilyflight paused in her licking. "Well... I guess I want to know why none of the Clan knew about this," she admitted. "But don't say anymore than you think you're ready to talk about," she added quickly.

"The queens that took us in had a kit each that died, they were both around our age, so they took us in to 'replace' them. The Clan couldn't find out because they would most likely reject us, and we liked it here."

"So that's why the Clan couldn't find out," Lilyflight muttered, giving Sunpaw another lick. "I think I understand now. They didn't want you to be rejected. Even if you were accepted, there's always that other cat who would give you dirty looks or not talk to you, and Robinstar wanted to avoid that."

Lilyflight was surprised that not even the Clan leader knew. "I won't tell her, I promise," she assured her. "But if Robinstar doesn't know, then how did you find the Clan?"
