He thought for a moment. "Blackblood seems like he genuinely cares about the well-being of Snowfrost while she's there. He made sure that Darksky won't hurt her as much as she could have."

“Really?” This part she hadn’t quite expected. She didn’t think Blackblood would ever intentionally hurt and expecting queen, but it was still surprising the lengths he had gone to to make sure Snowfrost was alright.

She caught Rosethorn’s look and gave him an understanding look. “Then maybe he can help us. After Larksong, I don’t think he’d let Snowfrost stay if she’s having kits.”

"He really seems unhappy keeping her there, especially after he noticed that she was going to have kits. That's when he made rules to restrict the amount of abuse Darksky can do and when he started taking better care of her."
