*Running with the Flood* A Warrior Cat RP~Open~

His fur pricked in anxiety. "What's going on? What's she feeling?"

He flattened himself in a submissive posture, trembling slightly in fear. Every cat knew the lengths a mother cat's rage would go to to protect their kits. "H-He already left."
“She- She’s angry. Really angry. And scared. She’s feeling protective.”

Lilyflight forced herself to calm down. Beetlepaw didn’t deserve to be scared like this. “Then you can tell him that one he comes back he should get his fluffy rear end over here before I murder him. Got it?” she snapped.

"Any idea why?" He urged

"O-okay." He mewed timidly He's going to find out that I told her! He's going to hurt me for sure now... He thought in dread

“No! It just happened all of a sudden, like she saw or heard something... It’s like it has something to do with her kits. I can only guess that it’s a mother’s protection she’s feeling.”

“What is it?” Lilyflight asked, the fire fading from her eyes long enough to see his fear.

He nodded in thought.

"It's just... If I tell him, then he's going to figure out I've been sharing secrets and he's going to hurt me... bad." He whimpered

She waited for him to speak.

“Then don't,” she stated simply. “Talk to Brackenkit at least... please? Tell him I love him, and Lionkit too, and tell Brackenkit that I’m asking him to stay away from this place.”

"She's in the Dark Forest and she's feeling protection for her kits..." He mewed, connecting the dots. "So that must mean that... One or both of her kits is training there!"

"Alright, I will." He promised solemnly

“No!” she gasped. “They wouldn’t! Blackblood wouldn’t!” She began to feel the same emotions Lilyflight had felt, except now they were her own. She wrapped her tail around her rounded belly and growled to an unseen enemy. You’re not taking my or anyone else’s kits, Blackblood. Paws off!

“Thank you,” she whispered, meaning it more than any other time she had said it that day.

He curled his tail around his mate. "Don't worry, he won't get to our kits." He promised, feeling the protection of a father to kits, not as strong as a mothers, but strong all the same.

He nodded and glanced nervously at the moon. "It's almost morning. I have to go." He disappeared almost instantly after that

“He certainly won’t. And if he tries, he’ll regret it!” she hissed.

“Goodbye.” She sat staring at the spot he had disappeared at for a while longer before finally bending her head to eat the prey she had been brought.

He nodded in agreement, holding back a loud snarl.

Beetlepaw woke in his den and cautiously approached the nursery. "Brackenkit!" He whispered urgently
