“Are you okay?” She was so tired she could sleep for eternity. Maybe she could, if she just let the darkness take her for a moment...

"Yeah. The worst she did was clawing and biting my throat. She got it worse than me though." She flexed her claws and inspected them for blood.

Bramblestar nudged her gently to keep her awake

She groaned again, not wanting to stay awake. It hurt too much. It felt like how it had when the fox had inured her, except her whole body was lacerated with the scratches, and they ran deeper. Darksky sure knew how to fight...

“Come on, you need to stay awake,” Floodlight urged.

He nudged her again, this time harder. "I know it hurts, but you have to stay awake for as long as possible." He urged

Floodlight placed a gentle paw on her mauled side. “Think of your kits. Stay awake for them.”

"They want to see you, but how can they if you're not awake?" He mewed softly. "They've been desperate for even just a trace of your scent while you've been gone. Especially Skykit..."

Through the haze, grief came to her heart. “Are they okay? Can I see them?” Even though it was still hardly above a whisper, her voice was slightly stronger now.
