"She just seemed more carefree back then. It wasn't uncommon for her to just randomly pounce on me back then." He mewed wistfully
"Yeah, I guess. Now she's got prophecies and all that to worry about. I guess we all do."
He nodded. "Yeah, I guess she just had to grow up, but then again, we all do at some point."
"I don't want to!" Snowpaw protested. "I mean, I want to be a warrior, but I don't want to not be able to go on a walk for the fun of it. I don't want to be weighed down by responsibilities. I don't want to."
He gave her a lick. "You don't need to for quite awhile."
"But I will have to someday," she pointed out. "I just wish I never had to."
"I know." he mewed gently. "But you don't have to worry about it for a very long time."
She sighed. "It will sneak up on me..."
Redfrond purred. "It will be fine. I promise."
