Bramblestar led the way out of camp.

"What's going on?" Lilyflight asked gently as she walked over.

"Nothing!" She mewed quickly and ran off to the spot underneath the camp wall.

Once they were a good amount aways from the camp, he sat down and faced her. "Magpiepaw, I believe that you can do this. I want you to hunt squirrel by the Twoleg place by yourself first. Me and Sunstrike will be watching, you just won't be able to see us." He explained excitedly. "Go ahead, and don't forget to have fun!"

"I used to have four kits, not three." Was all she said, then slunk back into the hole, not wanting to have to continue or relive that memory.

She nodded briefly in acknowledgment before streaking into the surrounding trees. Her eyes were pinpointed on every sign of movement. Her paws came to an abrupt halt. Rummaging through the leaves littering the forest floor was a plump grey squirrel. She defined her location and slithered silently among the ferns to a more agreeable angle with the edge of surprise. She took a deep breath. Her paws shot noiselessly forward before springing in a massive leap. Her dainty forepaws landed squarely on her quarry. She bit down quickly, making a clean and successful kill.
