He purred happily“Thanks. I should have known you’d be alright with it.” She rested her tail on his shoulder briefly.
Floodpaw felt a brief surge of relief, but she didn’t stop to rest. Instead she began making more poultice out of juniper berries, marigold, horsetail, and a few other herbs. She looked up quickly as Owlherb spoke. “I can’t leave Bramblestar,” she protested, despite the excitement that stirred deep inside her.
“Another father?” he echoed, surprised.
“Sure. But I have a feeling those two didn’t really want a hunting competition, just some time alone.” Her whiskers twitched.
"It's okay. Feathersky has experience. She can watch him for a few hours while we're gone."
She nodded. "Is that okay?"
"Yeah, me too." He laughed. "But still, we're going to win it!"
