Darksky pulled Blackblood to the side, away from Lilyflight. “If that scares her enough we won’t have to touch any kit,” she hissed. “But if it comes to that, we won’t kill it.”
His fur smoothed and he nodded. "Alright." He mewed gratefully, glad she understood. Returning to Lilyflight, he mewed "We catch you again, your kit will get hurt."

“You’re not touching my kits unless you want a slit throat,” she hissed, bristling.

“I don’t think you’re in much of a position to be making threats,” Darksky growled.
 
His muscles rippled under his pelt. "Try it and you'll end up dead."
“I don’t care, if it means my kits are safe.” She knew it wasn’t unwise to behave like this, but fierce rage and a desire to protect her kits made her not care.

“You don’t have to worry about any of that, so long as you shut your mouth!” she snarled.

"I beat you easily when I was an apprentice doing battle training without claws. Imagine how much easier it will be for me now that I'm full-grown and won't hesitate to use claws." he reminded her of the countless beatings she had received from him when he was younger

She hissed but did not say anything else. She would risk herself, but not her kits. That was where she managed to get some control out of herself.

“Good. Now stay like that. I like you better when you’re silent.” Without waiting for a response, Darksky whirled around and stalked off into the rancid mist.
