“Did the mean tail run away from you?” she asked, flicking it again.

“Dang!” Featherkit repeated, getting clumsily to his paws.

“What’s wrong?” Lilyflight murmured, her gaze misty.

She was gripping it so hard she was picked up with a squeak of surprise

Snowfrost attempted to remove her now aching tail from Flykit’s surprisingly strong grip. “I need that to stay on, you know,” she teased.

“Dang!” he repeated happily, proud of his new word. “Dang!”

“What do you mean?”

"Tes a ber." She mewed, disagreeing

"Seems like we've got two kits who take after you when it comes to talking..." Rosethorn teased

"I don't know, but I don't like it." He wailed, scared now

“I guess my habits are finally coming back to get me!” she mewed in amusement, twitching her ears. “And yes, young lady, I do need that.” She gently pried her tail from Flykit’s grip.

“Lionkit!” Brackenkit exclaimed quietly, worried now.

Lilyflight looked at her flank in confusion, and then she saw it. So that was what that was about. She began to feel worried.

She let out a snort of protest and tried to pounce on it again, but do to lack of sight, she missed

His ears flattened and he hunkered down, whimpering. "You don't act like yourself anymore either." He cried

Skykit woke to the commotion going on around him, confused

Snowfrost wrapped her tail around Flykit and offered her more milk in case she was still hungry.

Brackenkit walked up to his brother and pressed against him in an attempt to comfort him.

Lilyflight gave all three of her kits a lick. “I’ll be fine,” she murmured.

Flykit refused and instead went to sleep with a sigh

Lionkit felt thankful for his brother. "But what if you aren't?"
