hello:

we have 14 hens and 2 roosters. our hens are: comets rhode island reds and barred rock.
recently, some of our eggs are runny= basically the yolk and the white are all the same and very watery.
others are completely fine.
any ideas why this might be happening?

The shells are fine? And these eggs, they have very little air cell? They're fresh?

Is the yolk 'scrambled' into the white? Or are they just lacking structure, just watery?

Can you tell us about the hens' diet?

You will learn a lot here. However, you need to give more info for those that can help. Such as age of chicken, what do you feed them, do they free range, etc. etc.
That will save time and help you get quicker answers.
I myself don't know as I only have had chickens for over a year. I lurk and learn here.
Again, welcome to the coop.

Hi:::

the hens are out on the field all day and they also have chicken feed inside their coop.
the shells are soft and thin so i will buy them oyster shells and scatter them all over.
the hens are around 1 1/2 years old. is that too old?
we also have some younger ones (9months) although i have no idea whi is laying the bad eggs.
the yolk is very watery and sometimes scrambleded into the whites. they also seem to have a big red blood dot....

thanks for your help!
