Our beautiful chicken has a very poopy bum. She seems to be still moving well and scratching in the soil during the day.

We would love some advice about what might be causing this and what to do!

I’ve attached a photo.

Thanks so so much

There is something very wrong with her vent. It looks puffy and bloody. I would say vent gleet. A fungal infection of the cloaca. I would start with an epsom salt bath, I would use a shower head to wash with warm water, as much if the guk on her but away as possible before putting in to soak. I would then dry her, and put Monistat cream on her vent area. Isolate her so it doesn’t spread (via rooster mating) and make sure she gets probiotics in her water. And oregano supplement like durastat is also great.
