My 6 hens just turned a year old this month and have all seemed in good health (and on good behavior) until recently. The runt of the flock (Rosemary, pictured below) has always been a little smaller and more skiddish than the others, but seems to always get enough food and lays pretty consistently.
However, recently I have noticed that she seems to be missing some feathers on the top of her head. I have noticed the others do peck her occasionally, but have not noticed it directly in this area. Is this a common area for pecking? Could it be something else? There has been no bloodshed, but she does seem a little more despondent than usual.
Any advice? No-peck spray, pinless peepers, etc.? (sorry the photos aren't great, she doesn't like her photo being taken much)
