I had 5 pheasants hatch 8 days ago, and have been in the brooder since, there is one that is about half the size of the others, and gets bullied, and ran over all the time. Today I noticed that he or she is limping. and when it's standing still it holds it's foot off the ground. Is there something I should do, or do I leave it alone. Thanks

I bet they are picking at his legs/toes. I noticed mine did that a few times, but they stopped. I would try to separate the runt, or maybe put him in a shoe box inside the brooder to keep the others out. You may want to try adding some vitamins to the water too - and also, use a red heat lamp - white lamps, I've heard, can make them more aggressive.

I keep them in a pretty big cardboard box with a red heat lamp, and they can get pretty rambunctious. I know when I put water or feed into the box they run around like crazy, and that little one has probably been steamrolled more that once, and been hurt.

He needs to be separated.. my runt just died.
