Runty Chick gasping constantly

I have a cross breed chick that was hatched by a broody a couple days ago that's always stretching his neck up and gasping like it can't breathe. It's been like this since hatch. This chick is smaller than the others, and seems a little slow. It eats with the others and his crop fills up and empties like it should. The chicks are eating chick starter. Could he have hatched with an internal deformity or inhaled something during hatch?

Hard to know what's causing it, but if he had difficulties since hatch, then you may be right about deformity/developmental issue.
Some chicks fail to thrive, all you can do is see if the conditions improve, if he goes down hill, then putting him out of his misery may be in order.

Try giving vitamin therapy as well. Give him 2-3 drops Poultry Nutri-Drench twice a day.
