Hey all! As a newbie chicken owner, I've been engrossed in BYC forums for the past month. (Not nearly long enough, by the way :)) And I came to realize that through all the breeds I've been reading about, not one is a match for one of our gals. All of our chicks came from Rural King, and I noticed a single dark brown chick out of all the bins. Not one like her in sight. So, naturally, I decided she had to come home with me. The problem is I have no idea as to her breed. And on top of it I'm not entirely convinced "she" is a girl. There's thousands of ways it seems to sex chicks, all with a varying probability of being incorrect. Anyway, let's talk about this chick. I've taken to calling her 'Partridge' because earlier on I had figured that a Partridge Rock was what resembled her the closest. Now I am not sure. I have a few ideas as to breed, which I'll post below some photos.
In advance, I apologize for the awkward angles of the photos, the other girls and boys were determined to be in the picture too. I've edited them to highlight as much of her coloring and patterning as possible.

Like I mentioned above, after intensive research I have a few vague guesses on her breed.
Partridge Rock
Black Sex Link
Brown Leghorn
Easter Egger

Some notes:
- despite the photos, her base color is dark brown, not black. Think chocolate like.
- her legs which are not very visible in the photos are mottled smudgy black and yellow
- I have had her since she was two weeks old, in the photos she is four weeks.
- during the time I've had her she has never had any facial markings or any tufts of fuzz on her face (as I've seen EE chicks have)
- she is less docile than some of the others (not sure if this can be helped at all in identifying her)

there was a similar chick (our gal's face seems darker), but she was never clearly identified other than she may or may not be a BSL. Any help would be excellent as I am wildly curious to know what she is! Obviously she is very pretty but I would love to know her breed. Thanks!

***UPDATE***
I apologize for the delay in posting more photos. At first I thought the natural light would really be good for photos, but for whatever reason it is IMPOSSIBLE to take chicken pictures without flash. Ours are just too fond of playing and hold still about half a millisecond.

Now the gal (?) is five weeks and developing some new feathers.

p.s. I know this one is fuzzy but it's the only half decent shot of her whole body I got.

If you could get pictures in natural lighting that would be great! I'm thinking she may just be mixed breed. Lots of people have gotten mixed breeds from local (or chain) feed stores. This is a mix I got from TSC (she resembled a Partridge Rock right up to being fully feathered):

Not a Black Sex Link...or any kind of sex link.
Not a Brown Leghorn...totally different patterning.
Not likely EE...no beard/muff or green legs and has a single rather than pea comb.

I agree we need photos without the red heat lamp to see the real down color

It is possible it could be a Partridge Rock, legs should be yellow, and you would expect a brown partridge coloring.

It also could be a hatchery oops, meaning mixed breed.

BTW...Comb is starting to look precocious at the apparent age, so don't be surprised if this turns out to be a roo.

I think mix too. Our Welsummer chicks looked different at that age. I also think that it is a roo.
