Wondering if anyone has determined what these are possibly a mix from? My guy had me convinced for the longest, looked like a pullet up until today (10.5 weeks) now with redder comb (pea comb??), curved tail feather. He’s no bigger than my pullets and I don’t see any wattles on this guy and he has a muff it appears? Just curious if anyone ever found out more about them he’s got a fierce look on him for sure haha.
I'm horrible about sexing breeds other than silkies, which take months before we'll know with those, but when you talked about his "fierce look" I believe there's something to be said about that as a way of sexing. I've seen that fierce look on a particular chick, and lo and behold, that one turns out to be a cockerel! But that's one out of about 15, and half of them are going to be cockerels anyway.
Hopefully someone who actually knows more about breeds and sexing comes along, but in the meantime, I think you're onto something!
