Rusty the Rooster must find a new home! Western NY

I am going to part with my beloved Rusty. He has won the hearts of a few here on BYC as Rusty is quite the looker, even though he is a mystery cross breed!! He was even Picture of the Week when I first joined.

One of our D'uccles stole the poultry shows this week and it has been suggested by 2 judges and some other folkds that raise many chickens, that it would be Shame to not get her a Mille Fleur D'uccle rooster to breed with. Emma took BB, and Best Bantam in the open show and Best Bantam and Best in show in the 4-H show.

I have had a feeling that Emma was good, and these folks convinced me that I was correct.


Anyways... here is Rusty the rooster.. he is 3 years old and a good boy. He does not want to be held, but he does not chase or fight us either.

If you are local to me and are interested in giving Rusty a new home.. please PM me. I am afraid that if I take him to sell, someone may buy him to eat... and well, if that's what happens,
he is a chicken after all. But I'd much rather see him with a flock.

wow, he is beautiful. I just re=homed a rooster via craigs list - said I wanted to establish that they already had a flock, and found a woman 25 miles from me who had two flocks of chickens, plus other farm animals. We met halfway, and my roo settled in there yesterday. After talking with her, I feel confident that my roo won't be dinner.

Thanks... me too. I am so undecided about getting rid of him. I hope the next rooster is as mellow as him and doesnt chase us.

oh wow he is gorgeous.... your not planning a trip to OH anytime soon are you! If so I'd take him in a heartbeat!
