The two brown ones are boer or boer crosses. The darkest has lamancha in it. The shivering could be nervousness. The way they are standing grouped together makes me think they are worried about something.
You can use a handheld garden pruning sheer for hoof trimming. Basically you will want to trim off what has been folded over on the bottom of the hoof for the first trim. You can find pictures of before and after hoof trimming online and can watch videos of hoof trims on utube. It would be easier if you have a goat friend to show you how the first time. Like Chickerdoodle said, first let them get used to you.

We only buy young bucks for processing to... my father says because wethers have more fat, the testosterone in bucks make them have more muscle and they have less fat on them.

Yes, the oldest we've probably ever had was 6 months old, though we did a 8 month old doe last summer.

Spent 11 hours outside today fixing up the lower pasture for the girls. The gal who is taking the buck should be here anytime. As I was in the feed store getting straw and goat chow, my friend suggested 4H for the hooves. I asked the girl behind the counter and she was actually a 4her and volunteered to come out Wednesday and do the hooves and show us how. GOD IS SO GRACIOUS!!!!! The girls are very sweet! They eat out of our hands and the boy stays just a few feet away. He wants some of the apples SOOOO bad, but he is NOT gonna do it. Anyway.. tonight the girls will be in their new home, snug in a nice shed full of straw with a beautiful pasture.

Few more questions:

I put a HUGE bucket of water out for them today and as far as I can tell, they did not take a sip... when should I start worrying??? I splashed in it etc, but the didn't get the hint.

Their permanent pasture has an NID stream (3-5 inches deep.. more of a trickle year round). Will they drink out of that? Can they drink out of that? They will have water in their shed also, but I am worried about them drinking okay.

How do I dispense baking soda and how much? Do they need any other supplements? Should I worm? What about coccidiosis?
