Sad about giving away our cockerel

Holding down the rooster into the submissive position, is putting his head down not up.
I practice this at night taking him off the roost when his testosterone is not pumped up.
I also give treats so my rooster is the one who calls his hens and I am not in competition with him. I may call them all towards me, but he gives his feed call to the food.

I'm sorry you had to give him away. I, myself, have not had a cockerel/rooster BUT after reading a tremendous amount of horror stories on here, I've learned things turn very quickly. Search through rooster posts. Often times I see that someone's sweetest little guy turns into a raging monster.
