Sad, lost one today

Went out to the pens before I leave for work. Found my Purple white eyed hen dead. Not sure what happened, she seemed to be doing good. I have been giving them fresh water every day due to the heat. She was the only purple I have for the Purple male so now I will be looking for another purple hen (to get males). This is the first adult bird we have lost. I am so frustrated. I checked her over and could not find anything wrong with her. Just needed to vent.

Sorry to hear that. You understand it when they are sick but when they suddenly drop dead when they seemed perfectly healthy it is very hard to take.

Brian,,I think so far I have hatched out 5-6 purples,,maybe I will have an extra or two,all I want is a trio,,I have so many "singles" of many colors,it will be a learning curve as to which birds,should be paired with which,,keep in touch
