sad news :(

hi everyone, sadly we lost one of our two pigeons sometime between last night and early this morning

i’m wondering if i need to get another pigeon right away? i honestly don’t want one but i don’t want the other one to get lonely. they were a mating pair and bonded ❤

also, will the predator be back? we have our ducks in the same yard (not same coop) and the other pigeon is still in the coop. and what could have gotten him?

Aww sorry to hear that. If you don’t want another, would you be open to selling that one so it can have a mate? Predators will always be back if they found free lunch. Have you checked around to see how it could have gotten in?

the one that passed was a rescue, but his mate we adopted from a family member. we are thinking about bringing her back to them so she can be with all of her old friends. we think we closed up the only opening it could have got in from

That would be good for him to go back to his old friends. And if you found where the possible entry way is that’s good. I’d still keep an eye out and if you have cameras it would help.
