Well I found my last two chickens dead today. My rooster Roy was still in the pen but there was not a sign of Blackie my pullet. Just wondering what could be killing them. The varmint killed the first one about a week ago no sign of it. I put some wire on top of the pen hoping if it was a flying varmint it would stop it. I ran out of wire left about a foot gap maybe its coming in there. The wind blew a tree across my pen which I plan on cutting down tomorrow. Something might have climbed up the tree and got in that way. Before I got my chickens I caught a coon and a possum and was hoping I wouldn't have any problems after I got my chickens. Roy was a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and Blackie was a Black Australorp.
If anyone has had a similar problem please let me know how you handled it.

Sounds like a raccoon most likely. Also possible are fox and coyote. We don't have any pix of your coop, run, or how it is fortified. Raccoons will keep returning to a known source of food. ( your coop with chickens in it. ) I do not suggest killing anything. Cavemanrich does not kill anything. You mention that you trapped a coon and a opossum. If you relocated them far enough, they would not be able to find their way back. You do not disclose your location. That's fine, but in urban area 3 miles would be fine. In rural areas, double that distance at least.
