I bought some chicken eggs off of eBay. First batch was no good, but I’m having better luck with the second one. Today is day 18 and I just sat them on the hatching tray. In the process I candled them and I found there is only one or possibly two live eggs (all the other embryos died about a week or so ago from what I can tell). The one live egg has a saddle cell. I read to set it upright to avoid suffocation. I made a tray out of an egg carton and set it in that. Is there anything else I can do to improve its chance of hatching?
I would also like to mention that the chick is pretty small, but still moving so I’d say that’s a good sign.
