New to Easter Eggers and also have never had any roo’s, but from other pictures I’ve looked at.. these look like saddle feathers. I‘m hoping I am wrong and have been told from a previous post this is a pullet. 8 months old and not friendly (we have handled them since they were babies, so any help appreciated!)

These feathers are not pointy at all, this bird I believe is a pullet. Also has female coloring. An Easter Egger rooster at this point would have very red on the shoulders most likely.

Do you want to add a good headshot just to be certain?A cockerel at eight months of age would have a fairly significantly comb.
Thank you! I can get a better picture if needed!

Those are indeed saddle feathers. All chickens have them, male and female. Male saddle feathers are long, slender and pointed and look like a flow of feathers over the back. Females are rounded and not as slender. Depending on the breed, they can be quite puffy or smooth over the rump; but still rounded at the end.

Your bird is a pullet, with her rounded saddle feathers.
