Saddle worth??

We did repair not resale
But the average 'old' saddle went for 150,
It all depends on make purpose condition size etc

I tried to sell one for $50 and I had someone offer $5 ummm no I'll keep it

What the heck

What would even be the point

I've had people offer me $20 for a $1200 saddle I have for sale. No typo, seriously offered $20.

I have had my saddle "herd" thinned down to zero before, when I only had old, unrideable horses. But somehow, those dang saddles breed like rabbits when they are locked in a tack room, and that zero became 1, then 2, and is now pushing 20 saddles... I do sell one or two a year, but somehow end up bringing home 3 or 4 more...

I have a few beaters, but the majority of mine are very good quality - Stubben, Courbette, Barefoot, Knightrider, Collegiate, etc. I only have 1 western in the bunch, the rest are English, and one old Buena Vista that I hold on to because it is old, and it's quality is better than the current $1500 Tucker saddles of the same design.

Looks like a pretty well made old saddle. I've never heard of the brand before, but that doesn't really mean anything. All I know is I have a LE TexTan/Hereford Sammy Thurman barrel saddle from like the 60's? It's almost in mint condition for it's age. When I tried to sell it, I had ZERO interest. I still take great care of it. I really like the saddle, and it's so light weight I use it to start my colts. lol.

Okay, everyone who knows anything about saddles!
I've got these two saddles here and I don't have a clue what they're worth!
First one is really old, I think 30's, and the little label says T.M. Lumly - Maker - Cushing Okla.
that's the one I'm really curious about, I was told that it's a really nice saddle.
Second one is a smaller saddle I can't find the label on it, doesn't have stirrups on it right now either

Hello! I csme across this old post. That saddle was made from my Great Grandfather. My madien name is Lumly. I had that saddle and during a ruff patch in my life I sold it. If you still have it or know it's where abouts I would be interested in funding it again.
