Hi,

I had duck eggs shipped which must have been used as a football in the Post! Only one egg has made it and lockdown is Tuesday. I left all eggs point side down prior to incubating but still the air sac is wonky. So, come lockdown, what is the best side to have the egg on? Im also worried this duckling will be positioned wrong and won't hatch. Temperature is 37.5 and humidity around 55%. I'll increase humidity at lockdown but do i have to decrease the temps slightly? I've read maybe half a degree decrease? Whats the reason for this? I've never hatched ducks before but im a seasonal chicken breeder so this is new to me. Many thanks for any advice.

The decrease in temp is so they can breath easier. Super hot and humid is hard to breath in. As for how to lay the egg, I'd put the more drawn down side up. I often don't really lock down my ducks until I see an internal pip. They take near forever to hatch so it's also hard to tell when they need help.
