safe bedding

Does anyone what is safe bedding for baby ducks? I have been using puppy poop pads but ran out. Duckie loves playing tug o war with paper towels. He trys to eat them. I dont wanna use newspaper because of the inks. I dont want him to eat it. Thank you

You can use shavings (NOT cedar) or hay. If the baby is very young, and you use shavings, just watch to be sure it doesn't eat them. It may pick at them, but no eating!

Many ducklings won't eat them - but mine tried, so we used old towels. Silly ducklings.

Now they are grown, they know the difference between shavings and food.

One of my babies found a piece of wood on the shavings, carried it around for 2 days!! Goofs!

My oldest ducks are several years old and they still eat the shavings.

I use pine and it doesn't seem to bother them.
