Safe covering for run?

BTW, the first bird net we installed was 1".

Since our main reason to cover the area is to keep the hawks out, and we have since started keeping bees and vegetable garden (all first timer !! how rewarding - we used to only grow flowers). We loved the bees visiting the garden and how the crazy squashes (shark fin squash and lufa squash) grew on top of the net, I thought 2" will make it easier for the bees and squashes to get through the net, so we covered the new extended area with 2" bird net.

Just checked my purchases a few months ago (ya, carved out even more of our yard for the chickens), the price we paid was so much cheaper - I wonder what's the difference in terms of quality - hope ours last through the winter!
Main differences between actual "heavy duty" and more standard netting would be line strength (heavier netting should have burst and break weights listed) plus UV treatment for longer term use.

Here are some photos. The orange poles arch over the area and are tied together with some rope to give some stability. They are also zip tied to the fence posts.
