Safe flowers for flowerbox

Can we use petunias? the chickens will have access it's a flowerbox on the coop, is there something else we should use, edible is great too.

Marigolds are great, also peas, dandelion, carrots, think mini vegi garden! I planted all around the run with edible goodies for them to eat and it looks great and shades the run.
