My little monsters at -20 run right into the creek and play all day they act like its 80 deg. And at 5pm they come home for super and call it a day. They have a 4x8 shed for night time with hay the cold does not bother them

I simply add gallon milk jugs full of hot water to their coop on really cold nights. As the water cools and freezes it gives off heat. I also purchased a remote thermometer from Walmart ($10). I keep the probe in the coop and the receiver in the house. It gives me peace of mind knowing my feathered pets are comfy.

It's 29 degress in Philadelphia part of PA with no snow. The other end of PA, (Pittsburg) is 33 degrees with very light snowfall. The weather has been solid in the 30's but some days will randomly jump back to 50 or down to 20's... Not sure which side of PA OP is on but they're pretty much the same in temp. Low but not too low and each end is getting minimal snow... for now
What if the temp is in the single digits Like 8 9 wind is in the minus numbers

In WI today I had -17 deg F (regular temps) on the truck to work. The ducks came out of the hut and went straight into their rubber water tubs to play. :idunno Tonight is supposed to get -40 F wind chills. I am nervous but they will be in their huts packed with straw bales and have about 6" floor of straw bedding.

They are made for this. It is hard to imagine any animal being "ok" in these temps. Shelter from the wind is key. They choose to be in the tree line all day and go in the hut at dusk.
