I have my first broody with chicks due to hatch next weekend. Despite the pretty weather in previous weeks it is turning cold again. Should I be concerned for 30 and 40 degrees at night outside? They will be in the coop probably in a large dog kennel at first in sight of the flock. Trying to be prepared. Any input is welcomed and appreciated!

It will be fine; mom will take good care of them, and that's how I start my chicks with the broody hens. Years ago I had surprise; twelve chicks hidden in the barn in mid November, in Michigan! Every chick lived, too. Mary
