safe to eat turkey ?

Never fried one close to that weight (mostly around 15 pounds), but at 3 to 3 1/2 minutes per pound, you'd be frying that thing for at least 3 hours if you leave it whole and the outside would be burned to a crisp before the inside got anywhere near done. I'd break that bad boy down into pieces/parts.
 
They ate alot.

That's what I keep reminding my recently-turned-vegan mother when she starts giving me a hard time about "murdering a creature you raised from a baby" - turkeys eat a lot, and a tom's practical contribution to a farm is rather limited if he isn't going to be butchered. I offered to let her "sponsor" Big Turkey and pay for his monthly feed bill, but she didn't want to. :confused:
