my little bantam hen hatched out 3 chicks not quite a week ago, they are just so tiny and cute! i have kept her blocked off from the other hen (standard size) i had in there, but i'd really like to let them out because they arent in a very big area and mama is restless. is it safe to let mama and chicks out into the coop with the other hen? my bantam was always the boss anyway but i just dont want anything to happen to the chicks.

also, i have 4 week old bantams that are just about feathered out all the way, i have still been putting the lamp on for them some nights, but i dont really think i need to. would it be safe to put them in the coop with the other mama and hen? i really need the brooder space..

I would let the momma into the area with the rest of the chickens but watch them at first. She will protect them from the others. Your 4 week olds won't be safe with any of the others.
