I've had a huge drop in egg production and my hens have lost weight, so I wormed them with safeguard on Sunday the 16. I did Wazine the first week jn Jan.

When can I expect to see some improvements with them and their egg production? They are pretty drowsy. Arouse easily and beg for treats, but drift off to sleep afterwards.

I want my girls better, and my eggs back!

It took my hen about a month to recover... Does the wormer's package say not to eat the eggs for a month after so you don't ingest worming medication?

Withdrawal times are not established for wormers that are used off label in chickens. However, 14 days after the last dosing is normally sufficient when eggs can safely be eaten.

I know about withdrawal times. My question is how long will it take for the wormer to kill the worms and they can go back to their normal lovable egg laying selves.

Most wormers work immediately and worms are normally digested as protein or excreted (depending on wormload) within 24 hours. One wormer, slowly kills worms over a period of several days...valbazen.
