What day is it safe to handle baby chickens? Mine just hatched about 8 hours ago and I was wondering if I could hold it now or if I should wait

Let them dry completely so they don't chill by taking them out wet, then it should be okay to handle them for short periods of time (again, so they don't chill).

Well, yes, do wash your hands before and after. But it's fine to handle them as soon as they're dry. =)
