Right now, the digital thermometer says 39° here up at the house at 7:05 am. Usually it drops another degree or so before there's enough sunshine to reverse that trend. I'm betting it's 5-8° colder down the hill in the garden.

I didn't check the temp before I left this morning but I did look for some gloves to wear

Thursday am: Well, color me fantabelgasted! 39° at the house, don't know what the temp was down the hill. The buckwheat is FINE!

The next evening, ie, Friday:

Well, I didn't hold my mouth right when I clicked post yesterday, and sure enough, this didn't go through.

Or maybe I got up to get more coffee and then went to another page and thought I'd clicked post.

Anyway, the buckwheat still stands. Maybe it didn't as cold as I thought it would. Or maybe buckwheat is a little bit tougher than I gave it credit for.

Yesterday, hubby and I got our flu/Covid shots. Today will probably be a low energy/high nap day.

Two naps, didn't do much else. Freya did get her three walks. I did do my workout on the elliptical.

I have to do the elliptical. No matter what. I have been doing it for 673 days in a row, not missed a day. No little jabs in the arms are going to make me miss a day now!

If today goes as planned, I will get a lot done. We'll see! I don't want to jinx anything by saying what I'll do. If I don't get it all done, as Scarlett O'Hara said, "After all, tomorrow is another day."

Got the main things done. I called the CU for a pay off balance on our car loan. We went to the bank, got a certified check, and got rid of our debt!

I hate having loans. The reason we took out a loan is because buying the car would have left us very little in our emergency fund, and that makes me nervous.

The other main thing was to feed the bees. In doing so, we saw that one hive was getting robbed by yellow jackets. We crushed every one we could find with the hive tool. I'll go out tomorrow and look for more.

We need a killing frost. That should take care of the yellow jackets. The bees will be safe in their hives.
