The technique is called brioche knitting, worked with two colors. The sides have the colors reversed. The pattern is similar, but has some differences.

This pattern is from Nancy Marchant's book, Knitting Fresh Brioche. That woman is the Queen of brioche IMO. Her designs are stunning.

If you knit and this technique interests you, I highly recommend her book. She teaches the technique from the ground up, with explanations and lots of very clear photographs. The idea is very simple, but has endless possibilities.

Thank you! I love to knit, but haven't been able to. I have tendonitis and knitting inflames it. Hopefully one day I'll be able to knit again. I might order that book though.
