salmon faverole x partridge Plymouth rock hatching soon

They are so cute!

Why would the momma leave? Is she missing or could a predator have gotten her?

I don't know. No sign of trauma. It's like she was abducted. Her and three chicks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she's just on a walk about, but as of now I have the brooder tank up and running.

All have five toes, most seem to have feathered legs, and some are clean faced, some have owl faces.

Still no sign of momma?

Nope. And the day she went missing we combed the property line and neighboring road side, both sides. No feathers, no blood, no birds. Now we have a roo that has disappeared in the same fashion. If it is a person, likely, I'm feeling a little gruff about my birds. Thank you for your concern. ( and for reading beyond the first word allowing me to vent a little)

That really sucks! I would hate that to happen... Hopefully you get a miracle and she just shows up! Who knows? One time there was a black OEGB rooster running rampant around our neighborhood (we figured out that one of the neighbors down the road threw him out but wouldn't take him back) and so I caught him and put him in our "chicken" hutch. He stuck around for about a week, and when I let him free range he would come back to the hutch at night but then one day he just disappeared, no sign of him at all. It was weird...

I guess it's all in the personality at that point. I've never had a chicken do this or that. Only a peacock once when I was little adopted us and our duck pen, or rather duck food and over hanging trees, then one day he wasn't yelling in our yard anymore but back in the woods. We heard that thing for years yowling and yelling back there.
