goes to show you can alway go by the comb I have four Salmon Favs. and three roosters and the hen has a bigger comb then the roosters!

True about the comb...my month old pullet has bigger comb than the cockerel.
I have also a supposed pullet with black on the chest, but not on the wings. So I just wait some more time.
Anyway...a cockerel will start crowing at 4 months old ?

This is an old thread, but Salmon Faverolles from hatcheries have regularly been showing up with these black/overall dark coloration much more frequently since this thread was started 5 years ago! So black on the breast does not necessarily mean it's a cockerel.

I would say roo. I have two pullets the same age and they have only brown markings. I read that pullets don't have any black on them. The pictures I saw of roos all had black underlines.

I bought 2 salmon faverolle pullets n my one pullet has some black colorimg on her chest .
The other is colored different not good pics srry will have get better ones
