Salmon Faverolle or Buckeye

There is a long buckeye thread where people sing their praises, so you might want to read that.

Both breeds have a rep for a good temperament. The most obvious difference is the feathered feet. If you have a coop that can have mud in it and you want to show, you probably would be better off with clean legged. That said, mud in the foot feathers doesn't seem to bother the birds any.

My impression is that the Favorelles will lay more eggs. Favorelles are single comb, Buckeyes are pea comb, but both are said to be quite cold hardy.

After that, consider the one that has the look you prefer. They're quite different in appearance.
