Well..I dove in with both feet an bought 5 yes 5, two week old chicks yesterday I couldn't help it :p I only plan to keep two but I had talked to two other farmers who wanted the same chicks so I got some extra for them. I got two buff silkies..I dont think they are bearded but Ill look into that..and 3 salmon faverolles. One of the salmon faverolles looks very different than the others. It's bigger and has greenish greyish blueish legs, the other two have very pink legs. It's bigger..perkier...and has no markings, zero, it is just all over yellow, no brown on its wings. The other two are yellow with brown feathers on their wings. It's head is also slightly darker than the other two though its body is lighter. It has the same shaped feet, and a pea comb..its eyes are bigger but the same color as theirs..can anyone tell me if i got the wrong chick? is this still a salmon faverolle hen? Will post photos in the morning :) Thanks!!! eeee I got chickens! :) My first chickens <3 <3 <3

:caf waiting for photos. Wish you had a video of the silkies grabbing a stick.

ok..its definitely not a salmon faverolle it only has 4 toes not 5 omg lol but it has a pea comb and the lady i got her from says it is probably a left over easter egger she didnt realize she still had, she had about 200 chicks there so..they are all from Ideal Poultry in Texas..two other people working there had gotten them for me so she hadn't seen..

But if it's an easter egger i think i might keep it! Is there a way to tell what color is will be when it grows up aside from just light, white, cream, ..lavender ? :p Do they stay the same color? She's yellow lol I've never seen a yellow one full grown so surely wont stay yellow? Its feet are blueish greenish pinkish..a really pretty color..its eyes are grey..

I really like her whatever she is..shes got a very bright look in her eye :) I picked her out because I liked her.. I was wanting to get a lavender or white easter egger or ameraucana, or a super blue but i heard they are TOO BROODY.. so it might just be an amazing stroke of good luck :) Shes all solid one color ..The shop owner just said she got mixed easter eggers so maybe thats why she was left..all solid and the rest were spotted....

Easter Eggers can grow up to be any number of colors/combinations. Mine was a very fluffy chick, has greenish legs, and now at 24 weeks is brown/buff fading to medium grey from front to back. Most pics of EEs don't look like her. She hasn't started laying yet, so I'm not sure what color eggs I'll get.

This picture I found is similar, but mine is darker by the neck and greyer by the tail:

Does that one in the photo have red eyes? Mine has grey eyes..what color are your ee's eyes? :) Do their eyes change color as they get older?
