Salt?

I use Louisiana Rock Salt on our sidewalk and the driveway to help with ice. Someone told me this is bad for my chickens and ducks. I've done it for years and have had no problems. Any truth to this at all?

Not that I am aware of. I use it to keep grass from growing between pavers.
