I have some friends that have BYCs in Omaha. They didn’t seem to have the same problems I’m dealing with in Bellevue.Welcome to BackYard Chickens. The Best of Luck with your Plans. And a Big Hello from Eastern Nebraska! Howdy Neighbor I'm In North Omaha.
Welcome to BYC!!(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Sort of … when I was a kid we had chickens (I lived on some acreage in rural Ohio).
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
0 but we’re planning on buying 4-6 depending on city regulations.
(3) What breeds do you have?
N/A, but we’re looking for good layers.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They’re yummy. They’re better quality than store bought and I know what they eat.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Oh too many to name! Chess, photography, running, hiking, camping, fishing, outdoors-ing in general never got really into hunting but would like to change that.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m in the military stationed in Bellevue, NE have been here a couple years. Me, wife, two teenage boys, and two dogs.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Just hearing about it, but my town requires membership in some kind of livestock organization. This came up first in a Google search and I’ve found useful stuff on this site before when researching the rules for my town. Hopefully membership here will satiate the regulations for Bellevue, NE.
