Same coop new house

So I was given 3 chickens and a coop from my uncle. I moved them from his house to mine. The question I have is should I keep them in locked up in the coop and run for a week or would it be okay to let them free range in my back yard?

keeping them in the coop for a few days would be a good idea so that they get used to their new suroundings and there 'house' after a few days/ week letting them out would work however if they get lost/ you find them looking lost/dazed then you may for the first week or so have to put them back to bed as they can 'forget' where they are ment to sleep
