My 3rd born is stuck in the same 75% zipped all the way around position for about 4 hours now... Should I help or just go to bed?

Is it a chicken? Go to bed...they take forever!!!! I always believe if they don't hatch, then they shouldn't have, but if it's only been 4 hours, I'm sure it'll be fine. Good luck!!

I would help, but that's just me...I have had this happen on MANY occasions. Sometimes they just get stuck in there or dried out. I only help a little though...if you see bright red blood, stop! Leave it alone for awhile and check back in a few hours.

Thank you! Sorry if I waste anyone's time....as I was typing "she" broke free!!!!!!!

If he has gotten this far, go to bed. He has plenty of air, be sure your humidity is good so he does not get bound in the inner membrane, the membrane can get dry and the chick can stick to it.

If you suspect that the chick is stuck on the membrane help him by ONLY taking off the rest of the top of the egg. DO NOT pull him from the egg. He may still be absorbing the yolk sack in the egg and the umbilical cord may be attached. If yo pull him like this you will pull the cord from the chick and this may kill it.

Personally, I would go to bed.
