Sand bowl tragedy

Just a word of warning as I lost a quail this morning.

My quail have a sandbowl I regularly fill with sand, it's made of heavy plastic and one managed this morning to flip it over and get stuck under it. With the heat here (currently 96f) she passed away.

So, check your sand bowls, make sure they're not too deep and check on your quails this summer more often.

Sorry to hear of your loss! Quail always seem to find 'crazy' ways to die. It's hard, impossible to 'quail proof' everything!
